11 Aug, 2011

The seventh season of the NSCAA College Game of the Week on FOX Soccer will feature matches between some of the top NCAA Division I men’s and women’s teams, making Thursday and Friday nights the premier viewing destination for intercollegiate soccer fans.

Since 2005, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and FOX Soccer have joined forces to offer live and exclusive NSCAA College Game of the Week telecasts. This season’s schedule includes eight women’s and 12 men’s matches.

“We are proud to once again bring our members and college soccer fans the NSCAA College Game of the Week telecasts on FOX Soccer,” said CEO and Executive Director Joe Cummings. “It is exciting to be able to offer the most comprehensive college soccer TV package with teams from all across the nation.”

Among the teams showcased during the telecasts will be eight men’s and seven women’s teams that appeared in the final NSCAA Division I national rankings from the 2010 season, including both reigning national champions: the University of Akron on the men’s side and the University of Notre Dame for the women.

FOX Soccer’s exciting college slate kicks off Friday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. ET with an in-state rivalry as the South Carolina men travel to College of Charleston. The women’s schedule begins 13 days later, as Milwaukee hosts No. 11 Marquette at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

The men’s schedule features the top three teams in the final 2010 NSCAA rankings with Akron, No. 2 Louisville and No. 3 North Carolina featured in consecutive weeks. The string begins when Akron hosts New Mexico on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. ET. That game is followed by national runner-up Louisville traveling to Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. ET and concludes with NCAA semi-finalist North Carolina at home against ACC rival Duke on Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. ET. The men’s season concludes on Friday, Nov. 4 at 10 p.m. ET with West Coast rivals UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.

Notre Dame and NCAA runner-up Stanford highlight the women’s schedule. The Fighting Irish travel to Big East rival South Florida on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. ET, while Stanford is featured twice this year, first at perennial NCAA tournament contender Portland on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 10 p.m. ET, and then at Pac-12 Conference foe Arizona State on Friday, Oct. 14, at 10 p.m. ET.

For the seventh consecutive season, Santa Barbara-based Cultural Global Media, Inc will be handling the production of all 20 NSCAA College Game of the Week telecasts on FOX Soccer.
